The new Carlsson forged wheel 1/10 Ultra Light |
Sportiness in a new design:
· For the first time, a light alloy wheel combines single and double spokes
· Elaborate forging process saves up to 40 percent weight
· With highest load capacity for a more agile driving behaviour
· In 19 and 20 inches
Carlsson opens up a new chapter in wheel design. With the 1/10 Ultra Light and its combination of five single and five double spokes the automobile manufacturer from Merzig, Germany breaks new grounds. Thereby, the forged wheel does not only stand out for its design, but again sets benchmarks in load capacity and weight optimisation.
Head designer Rolf Schepp – also known as DeLusi – designs the five upper spokes in such a way that they taper out concisely into the rim well while the five double spokes set off deeper from the wheel mount and lay on the outer upper rim well. The different surface finishes render a discreet contrast. Behind the upper spikes and the rim bead in brushed aluminium lie the double spokes and rim well in a polished finish.
Because there is no drop centre and the spokes are stretched over the rim beads, the 1/10 Ultra Light wheels in the sizes 19 and 20 inches render an especially dynamic character.
But the new light alloy wheel does not only convince by its unique look. Also the production process sets new standards.
During the forging process, the light metal is compressed to such an enormous extent that no hollow spaces remain in the material. This saves approximately 40 percent of weight compared to equally large wheels produced in cast technology. On the other hand, the elaborate forging process creates wheels with an enormous load capacity. Therefore, Carlsson forged wheels are ideal for weight-intensive automobiles and due to their low unsprung masses, they render more agility and better handling.
